In a relaxed, collaborative atmosphere, Janet’s “Learn-by-Doing” approach allows you to reconnect to your inner wisdom. This creates space to identify and focus on realistic and attainable goals that are right and true for you.

Janet uses experiential psychology to help transform “issues in your tissues” by mindfully integrating your body (calming your nervous system); relaxing your mind (understanding limiting thoughts/beliefs) and regulating your emotions (recognizing them as a key form of intelligence) you are able to reconnect to your spirit and personal meaning.

The therapeutic method is very active, integrating lots of movement for holistic healing. Drawing upon a diverse range of methodology and teachings, Janet’s offerings are mindfully-crafted to suit your needs, goals, and values while taking into account the communities you belong to and your unique circumstances.

The PolyVagal Theory and Trauma Informed Peer Support are foundational in Janet’s practice, along with countless other tools, methods, and creative solutions.

With the confines of psychology, Janet is passionate about expanding boundaries and starting conversations to help communities shift the dialogue surrounding psychology and mental health.

The three main pillars that Mountain Therapy is built upon are: individual, relational, and community approaches.

Janet believes that critical incidents can not be carried by an individual alone. It takes a tribe, a community to remind us of our resilience and recovery. When you work with Janet, you become a welcome member of her tribe.

Psychodynamic therapy modalities with an attachment lens help Karly understand how early relationships and experiences shape an individual’s personality and behaviours, which can help clients explore and understand the underlying emotional conflicts and motivations that may be driving their thoughts and behaviours.

With IFS, Karly helps clients explore and transform their inner conflicts and self-defeating behaviour patterns. Karly also utilizes the narrative approach, which emphasizes the power of personal storytelling to explore one’s life experiences, beliefs, and values.
